Gain weight; lose weight. Inflate; deflate. Up and down like a yo-yo! When attempt after attempt at losing weight fails, it is enough to cause a body stress! Did you ever stop to think that much of the weight a person gains is because of stress? If you were to label overeating as misbehavior [which is typically how it is labeled by insensitive onlookers], and then recognize that misbehavior is an outgrowth of or manifestation of stress, you may be able to see this weight problem from a far more exciting perspective. Most of the effort, and it IS effort, used to get weight off is spent overriding what appears to be our natural propensities. Or we choose an appetite suppressant or device to do the overriding FOR us.

After 9 years of diets, exercising to the point of ruined knees, and weighing more that when I delivered any of my 5 babies, enough was enough. I was so consumed by the demon of weight that it was destroying me. It was only at that point that I said "NO MORE!"
Our bodies are perfect machines capable of repairing broken bones, gashes in our skin, and a multitude of other amazing repairs. Surely if our body can do that, it can help us "fix" the weight issues in our lives. Once I gave up the "Rules" of diets (they seem to change everyday anyway with the newest and greatest fad) I began "LISTENING" to what my body needed and wanted. The more I trusted my body's instructions, eating what it seemed to know it needed, stopping when I was "Satisfied", knowing I could go back whenever I wanted, because the "rules" didn't say I couldn't, I began losing weight. It was MELTING away!
Part 2: Dealing with Beliefs That Won't LET You Be Weight Responsible-
Learning to Trust Yourself Again!
Over the years at GrowthClimate, we began noticing belief statements being made by some of our students who were over-weight. Then, as these students began to uproot their OWN stress, they found beliefs (internal mandates) that undermined self confidence and their ability to make and to keep the commitments they made to themselves. They had lost the weight race even before it began. These individuals did not know how to VALUE themselves. They had ended up in weight-helplessness-the ability to focus on and to trust their inner sense of rightness as it is linked to health. You are NOT the bad guy-some of your BELIEFS are! Learn about getting to the ROOT cause of your weight issues. More importantly, learn how to value yourself and to take charge of your health naturally without duress.
