The old axiom “united we stand and divided we fall” not only works for strengthening nations but also for strengthens families.  Children are survivors, and when they do not see unity in their parents, they often play mom against dad or dad against mom.  Once mom and dad get on the same page and set up a discipline program that is a mutual fit for each of them, then discipline becomes a snap and the children learn self control, self respect, and will begin to appreciate the leadership of those who have stewardship over them.  You see, parenting is The Transferring of Responsibility from a Temporary Steward to a Rightful Steward.  In the end, the children must become a self aware, self disciplined, self governing,  self correcting individuals.
