The Role of Parents During the LATENCY STAGE of Development [Ages 6-12]
Hosts: Kenneth H. Patey, Sharon Patey
During this phase of development the mind is only beginning to see how different parts of the world connect to each other. Children are collecting thinks—stamps, butterflies, rocks etc. They hunger to know how things work and you can play a critical role in this development by getting involved in and participating in those things that are of interest to your child. Discipline will take on a different form than discipline in the past. You adapt because the brain is more developed and reason is coming into play.
